Static hosting with the speed work already done
Everything below is in the product today, not on a roadmap. Most of it is on the free plan.
Live in about fifteen seconds
Drag a folder, a ZIP, or a single index.html onto the upload box and your site is live before the page finishes scrolling. There is no build step to configure, no repository to connect, and no deploy queue to wait behind. Upload the output of any framework — Vite, Astro, Hugo, Jekyll, hand-written HTML — and Fylo serves it exactly as you built it.
About 100ms to first byte, measured not claimed
Your pages are cached at the edge, so the first byte reaches a visitor in Frankfurt in about 134ms and one in Singapore in about 236ms — from a single upload, with no CDN to configure. Traditional hosting sends every request back to one origin server. Here the response is already sitting in the city your visitor is in.
Every dial a performance engineer would turn, already on
Minify HTML and CSS, defer non-critical stylesheets, delay JavaScript until idle or first interaction, subset your fonts, and self-host anything you were loading from a third-party CDN. Each one is a toggle, and every one of them is available on the free plan. Most sites gain 30 to 60 PageSpeed points without a single line of their own code changing.
Images converted to WebP on the way out
Oversized PNGs and JPEGs are the single biggest reason a good-looking static site scores badly. Fylo converts your images to WebP as they are served — SVG and AVIF are left alone — so a 2.3 MB hero photo reaches the browser as a few hundred kilobytes without you opening an image editor. Your originals stay untouched in storage.
HTTPS on every site, including the free ones
Every project gets a valid certificate the moment it is created, issued and renewed automatically, free subdomains included. On paid plans, point your own domain at Fylo and the certificate is provisioned for it too, usually within a couple of minutes. No CSRs, no renewal reminders, no expired-certificate warning scaring visitors off at 2am.
Fix a typo without redeploying anything
Open any file in the built-in editor, change it, and save. The edit is live and the cache is purged in the same action — no rebuild, no re-upload, no waiting. It is the thing static hosting usually makes hardest: a one-character fix that would otherwise mean a local build, a commit, a push and a three-minute pipeline.
See who visits, and hear from them, with no third-party scripts
Traffic analytics are built into the platform, so you get unique views, per-page numbers and average dwell time without pasting a tracking script that slows down the site you just optimized. On Pro and Business, add a form to any static page and leads land in your dashboard and your inbox — no backend, no serverless function, no separate form subscription.
Every site sandboxed, every site behind Cloudflare
Your projects are isolated from each other and from everyone else’s. There is no shared server to be a bad neighbour on and no PHP process to exploit. DDoS protection and bot filtering come from Cloudflare’s network by default, on every plan. Static hosting is inherently the safest way to put a site online, and this is the version of it where you administer nothing.
What “free” actually means here
Free sites carry a small “Hosted on Fylo” badge in the footer, and that is the entire catch. We never inject third-party ads, never sell your traffic, and never expire your site for inactivity. The badge disappears on any paid plan. Fylo hosts static sites — HTML, CSS, JavaScript, images — so if your project needs PHP, a database, or server-side rendering at request time, this is not the right host and we would rather tell you now.
Questions people ask before uploading
Is the free plan really free?
Yes. One site, 10 MB of storage and 1,000 visits a month, with no credit card and no time limit. The only difference from a paid plan is a small Fylo badge in your footer and the caps.
What kind of sites can I host?
Anything static: hand-written HTML, a Vite or Astro or Hugo build, a portfolio, a documentation site, a browser game, a client-side web app, a landing page. If it runs in the browser it works here. If it needs PHP or a database at request time, it does not.
Can I use my own domain?
Yes, from the Starter plan up: 1 domain on Starter, 4 on Pro, 10 on Business. Point a CNAME at Fylo and SSL is issued automatically. The free plan uses a Fylo subdomain.
Do I need to know git or run a build?
No. Upload a ZIP or a folder from the browser and you are live. If you already have a build pipeline, upload the output folder instead. Fylo does not care how the files were produced.
Will the speed optimizations change how my site looks?
No. Minification, font subsetting, WebP conversion and script delay all preserve rendered output. Anything that could affect a specific script has an exclusion field, and every optimization is a toggle you can switch off.
What happens if I go over my visit limit?
We tell you before it becomes a problem rather than deleting anything. The caps are monthly and generous for a static site: 25,000 visits on Starter, 150,000 on Pro and a million on Business.
Your site deserves better than a three-second load
Upload it free, watch the numbers change, and only pay when you outgrow the free plan.
